My Review

The series just gets better and better. The characters are becoming old friends and it's really interesting watching the different relationships develop. Noelle Holten has a knack of tapping into raw emotions and her realistic, sometimes almost too realistic!, descriptions draw you into the scene. The result is that you end up thinking about the story long after you finish the last page. I really enjoyed this book but I'm glad I don't live in the author's mind.

Summer Secrets at Streamside Cottage

Summer Secrets at Streamside Cottage

A new start can come from the most unexpected places...

It's been years since Lizzie Lockhart spoke to her parents. But she was safe in the knowledge she knew everything about them. Once upon a time, they were as close as could be. Until they weren't.

After receiving the earth-shattering news of their passing, Lizzie decides it's time to unearth some family secrets and find out just who her parents really were... starting with Streamside Cottage. A cottage Lizzie never knew existed, in a place she's never heard of: the beautiful English village of Leafton.

Leaving behind London, and the tattoo parlour she called home, Lizzie finds herself moving to the countryside. Faced with a tight-lipped community, who have secrets of their own, Lizzie is at a loss for what to do, until her rather handsome neighbour, Ben, steps in to help.

As Lizzie finally begins to piece together the puzzle of her family history she realises she has to confront the truth of the past in order to face her future.

My Review

Really enjoyed this book which was full of surprises. I now know more about the art of tattooing than I did before and found it unexpectedly interesting. Of course, this isn't the main story, but that too leaves the reader full of surprises. As Lizzie tries to unravel the secrets of the past, it doesn't unravel as she or the reader might expect. The twist isn't overly contrived but comes as a shock nonetheless. A story that will grab you and make you keep on reading. Definitely one for the summer.

Interview with a seducer

 Interview With A Seducer

A Bewildering Love Story

Trip Murgatroyd is a hotter than hot sex worker. He is happy with his life, with what he does for a living - he is comfortable in his own skin.

Then he receives an unusual request – to be Rachel’s 30th birthday gift.

An uber-hot escort is an unlikely candidate for a rather prim, over-protected widow to befriend. And who had ever heard of a jealous ghost?

Trip and Rachel would most likely never have met, had Rachel's friend not come up with this original birthday gift idea. Rachel was meant to close her eyes, and say 'thank you' afterward.

But, the concept of a stranger paid to spend the night with her did not sit well with her. She couldn't be part of his harem. So, questioning the man about his 'work', in a very public place, was as far as she was prepared to go.

However, the plan was doomed from the start - having never encountered a man like him before, she never stood a chance against his charm - the seducer was good at what he did for a living.

And her husband objected.

Since his death, Lawrence had been hanging around the house, reading the newspaper, watching TV - until  Rachel's meeting with Trip. Then he made his displeasure known - Rachel had promised him forever, and he was holding her to it.

But Rachel was a young woman - she wanted to love again.

How was she to escape her jealous husband's ghost?

Interview With A Seducer is a steamy paranormal romance for adult readers.

Aegean sun - The Kafeneion

Aegean Sun: The Kafenion

The Kafenion has much more to offer than just coffee and cake!

The Kafenion is undergoing its regular seasonal change from traditional coffee shop and local hangout to summertime hotspot for the massive influx of tourists who visit the Greek island each year.

The furniture has been updated, the new signs for more specific coffee types have been installed, the basic cookies have been replaced with a tempting range of cakes and desserts and a fresh coat of paint has added an optimistic glow to the place, which always attracts the many visitors who are looking for a treat.

Jane has been working on the island for a few years and finds a job in the kafenion for her friend Helen, who is hoping for some fun and romance during the summer.

Xenon and Kyriakos both make regular deliveries of fresh produce to the kafenion and they find other reasons to want to visit when Jane and Helen are around, but are they both interested in the same girl?

Georgina discovers the kafenion while searching for information from her mother’s past, but does Pericles have all the answers or will he just cause more confusion?

Visit the kafenion during a Greek summer season to see how the staff and their regulars navigate their way through complex working and romantic relationships.
This is the eleventh book of standalone reads in the Aegean Sun series.

Ideal for fans of contemporary romance writers Sandy Barker, Kate Frost and Jo Thomas

Author Bio –

Stephanie Wood writes contemporary fiction in the form of novels, novellas and short stories and you can find the running order of her titles on the ‘look inside’ of any book.

She published the AEGEAN SUN series of books as a fly-on-the-wall vision of life in a Greek resort during the summer season, using her extensive experience as a holiday rep to bring some unusual incidents to life on the page. The series began as an exploration of the various ways in which tourists make the most of their holidays and how they interact with the locals while they are visiting. The later books in the series have taken a closer look at the locals themselves and show how their lives and relationships are sometimes changed by the regular influx of seasonal visitors.

The CHRISTMAS ON THE CLOSE series is set in a British suburban cul-de-sac over the festive period and visits each house individually to discover how the neighbours who live there celebrate the season in their own special way.

Stephanie lives in Lancashire where, apart from reading and writing, she loves gardening and cycling and is a huge fan of the soaps Emmerdale and Neighbours. If you would like to sign up to her newsletter list (with around four messages per year) you can do so on the contact page of her website and, as a thank you, will receive the free short story THE ZIA SUNSET EXCURSION.

My Review

Stephanie Woods can always be relied upon for some light-hearted fun whilst using her years of experience in Greece to shed light on what happens when the tourists have gone home.

Now more than ever I felt the need to escape to Greece for a while. The romantic shenanigans, the search for a missing father and the relationships between the staff and customers of the Kafeneion all brought to life the Greece that I remember.

This is an easy light-hearted read perfect for anyone who loves Greece or simply wants to escape for a while in a good book.

My Review

Kate is planning the perfect holiday, in the perfect villa on a perfect island so that her son Scott can make the perfect marriage proposal to his long-term girlfriend. A total control freak, Kate is not the kind of customer you would want to deal with, nor is she the ideal mother-in-law. With Scott being a total mummy's boy, will Linda even accept the proposal? So much could go wrong and it does with hilarious results. This is a genuinely funny book. The descriptions of Corfu are luscious and made me even more nostalgic for the days when we could just jump on a plane. In the meantime, this book is the next best thing to getting my Greek fix.

Moonlight over Muddleford Cove

Moonlight Over Muddleford Cove

When thirty-four-year-old Nellie Wagstaff loses her job and discovers her fiancé is a cheating scumbag in a single day, she feels like the world has come crashing down. And that’s before the solicitor’s letter, along with a request to visit a place she hasn’t thought about for a very long time.

Heartbroken, Nellie escapes to the beautiful seaside town of Muddleford in Dorset, where she discovers she’s inherited more than she ever bargained for. Nellie never knew why her mother stopped talking to her sister, but now childhood memories of Muddleford come flooding back: long hot summers, the sea glistening beyond the sandy cove... and a stolen kiss with a boy called Jack.

Jack, now a devilishly handsome vet, has the local pet owners swooning over him, and as Nellie and he become close once more, and she gets used to gossiping with the locals and sipping wine at her beach hut with sand between her toes, she’s sure she can feel sparks flying once more. But just as she thinks she might be able to open her heart again, her newest frenemy, the glamourous Natalia, tells her a secret about Jack that changes everything.

Nellie will never know why her mother and aunt parted ways. She’ll sell the house, forget about Jack, and get back to real life. Because there’s nothing for her in Muddleford... is there?

An utterly uplifting and completely hilarious summer read about learning to trust yourself and of finding love and friendship in the least expected places for fans of Jessica Redland, Heidi Swain and Holly Martin.

My Review

This is just a lovely summery read. I could picture myself in Nellie's cottage and this book made me long for the sea. Jack and Nellie's realtionship is touching and it's clear their past history has created a bond between them but can they rekindle their teenage feelings? Natalia is a great if unwelcome character in the story and does her best to deter Nellie but will she succeed? The beach hut is a lovely touch making this a light-hearted summer escape, perfect for reading in the garden or if you're lucky, on the beach.
